Old Age Home

The Idea of Anand Vriddhashram (The Free Old Age Home)

When Tara Sansthan started out to organize eye camps in far-off villages, it was noticed that there were many helpless and poor old people who had no support from any quarter. So we decided to open an old age home for such aged people who are destitute, lonely and helpless, who either do not have any body in their family to care for them or who have a family but are not treated well and are insulted and humiliated.

Thus just 3 months after establishment of Tara Sansthan’s first eye hospital, Anand Vruddhashram was also opened on 3rd February, 2012 to provide relief to these helpless and suffering people with accommodation, food, clothing, medical care, entertainment and a homely atmosphere – all absolutely Free-of-Cost in the Old Age Home. Although the idea did not attract many villagers but many upper middle class urban people started flocking the old age each home.

After starting an old age home with 45 beds in Udaipur, Tara Sansthan went ahead and built Shrimati Krishna Sharma Old Age Home in Udaipur with a facility of 150 beds in 2012, 20 beds facility old age home was opened in Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) in 2016, Govt. old age home in Udaipur (with PPP mode) with 40 bed capacity opened in 2018, with 120 beds facility Maa Draupadi Devi old age home, was opened in Udaipur on September 2022, Mumukshu Bhawan in Kashi Vishwanath corridor with 40 bed capacity opened in 2022, with 40 bed capacity old age home in Head office of Tara Sansthan Udaipur opened in 2026 and with 100 bed capacity old age home in Ramnagar, Banaras opened in 2026.
