A new chapter of service in Varanasi – Tara Sansthan’s 100-bed old age home –

In today’s changing social scenario, the form of joint families is shrinking rapidly. Amidst the busy life, economic pressure and social changes, there are many elderly people who, deprived of family and society, are forced to live a life of loneliness, helplessness and neglect. In such times, old age homes emerge not just as a place to live, but as a source of respect, security and belongingness.

Recognizing this need, Tara Sansthan, Udaipur, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh government, is launching a new, state-of-the-art 100-bed old age home in Varanasi, the constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, starting January 15, 2026. Located in Ramnagar Colony, Varanasi, the old age home will provide a safe environment, proper care, and a dignified life for the elderly.

Tara Sansthan has been continuously working in the field of service for helpless, destitute and needy elderly people for years. Currently, the Institute successfully operates:

• 4 old age homes in Udaipur,

• 1 old age home in Prayagraj,

• And 1 free Mumukshu Bhavan inside the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor in Varanasi,

with the support of its donors. In all these centres, the elderly are not only provided with housing, food and medical facilities, but they are also provided with a family-like environment, emotional support and a dignified life.

This new old age home to be started in Banaras will carry forward this service tradition of Tara Sansthan. Regular health check-ups, nutritious food, clean accommodation, and proper mental and emotional care will be provided to the elderly living here. This old age home will become a ray of hope for those elderly people who are looking for support and affection at this stage of life.

In today’s time, the need for such old age homes is greater than ever before. When the family structure is weakening, then it becomes the responsibility of the society to come forward for its elders. This effort of Tara Sansthan is not only a work of service, but also gives the message to the society that the elderly are not a burden, but a heritage of our experiences and values.

The opening of this new 100-bed old age home in Banaras will further strengthen the service commitment of Tara Sansthan and will prove to be an important step towards providing comfort, security and respect to helpless elderly people in the last phase of their life.
